True Friendship: Women's Meditation Circle
with Shira Oz-Sinai

Saturdays, 5 sessions: Feb through June 2020 - specific dates and time to be announced
at The Spectrum Center for Natural Medicine
Registration beginning Dec/Jan. Past groups have sold out.

You're committed to a spiritual path of self-discovery and awakening. You integrate the teachings of yoga and meditation into your everyday life. You're practicing, noticing, and experiencing the benefits of awareness. Now what? Now's the time to dive in deeper, nourish interconnectedness, and
empower your unique self to shine.

Each monthly gathering begins with an instructive and heartfelt talk in which Shira delves into a selected critical teaching on the nature of presence, like tactics for working with the egoic self, how to unlock vulnerability in order to reveal self-acceptance, and seldom-discussed but common misconceptions about enlightenment (to name but a few past themes). While informative, each talk is delivered with unabashed sincerity and humor, incorporating timely pointers on seasonal changes from Chinese medicine, and personalized to draw on your own innate wisdom.

Every gathering ends with a guided meditation in the style of iRest® Yoga Nidra (seated or lying down) for a chance to integrate and gather insights in support of your authentic self
and what is currently unfolding in your life.

~ Cost: to be announced. Past groups have included free access to private webpage with session notes and Yoga Nidra meditation recordings for the duration of the series. ~

Wednesday, March 20, 2019, 6:30 - 8:30pm at The Spectrum Center
This is your invitation to a not-your-ordinary card night!

The Spring Equinox marks the astronomical first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Just as the trees and flowers start budding, we humans too are supported by nature to explore new ventures, renew our direction in life, and refresh our vision. This is a tender time of growth. So how about an evening of magic, play, and inspiration using oracle cards to call on the wisdom within?

We begin with a seasonal meditation, then pose questions about what wishes to blossom in us, and finally pick cards from decks that explore nature, chakras, and more.
Prepare for FUN!

'The Happy Brain' Lunchtime Therapy Group
to boost pleasure, positivity, and daily ease
with Elena Khazanova, LCPC, MEd
Previously -- Ongoing Fridays, from 12:00p - 1:00p, at The Spectrum Center
Can you grow through pleasure instead of hardship? Can you learn to be more positive and
at peace with yourself without working so hard at it?
Positive neuroplasticity means: changing the structure of your brain through experience. Generating and sustaining a “low grade” positive emotion for 15-20 seconds gradually re-wires your brain in the direction of positivity. The “stress response” neural structures get less sensitive, so you don’t overreact to the situations that do not threaten your survival. On the other hand, the “pleasure response” structures get sensitized, so you don’t miss the jewels of positive experience that fill our daily lives, if we only pay attention!

The Root Chakra Workshop
with Shira Oz-Sinai

October 3rd, Saturday, 10:00a - 2:00p at The Spectrum Center
This is an in-depth and experiential workshop focused on the first chakra, or energy center. Bringing attention to the first chakra, from the base of the spine down to the feet, as well as the emotions, images, and colors (among others) associated with it assists us in cultivating both physical and emotional stability, long-lasting resilience, an internal sense of safety non-dependent on outer circumstances, and grounded-ness. This is particularly useful if you experience constant or frequent lower back pain, if you're contemplating a major transition in life (like a change in or new home, job, relationship), if you're often preoccupied with finances and wish for easeful prosperity, if you frequently feel unbalanced (physically and emotionally) and fearful, or if you experience persistent worry and anxiety over day-to-day activities and situations.

This is an in-depth and experiential workshop focused on the second chakra, or energy center. Bringing attention to this center, together with the sensations, images, and experiences (among others) associated with it, assists us in cultivating a healthy flow--a flow of vitality, emotions, creativity, and give-and-receive in our connection with others. This is particularly useful if you've been examining your relationships, if you wish to attract what you really want in your life (career/love), if you've been stuck on or yearn to start a creative project, or if you experience pain/tension around the pelvis.
